Division 15

8th Western Rivers District

Serving southern Arkansas and western Tennessee

What We Do

The Coast Guard Auxiliary is an organization of volunteers who donate their time and sometimes their facilities (boats, aircraft and radios) to assist and augment the U.S. Coast Guard with its non-military, non-law enforcement activities.

In Arkansas and western Tennessee these activities include:

•    Teaching boating safety classes for adults and children.

•    Conducting safety patrols as well as performing search and rescue activities on area lakes and rivers.

•    Verifying and reporting problems with aids to navigation (lights, buoys, markers, etc.)

•    Performing voluntary safety equipment checks and one-on-one education for boaters through our courtesy Vessel Safety

         Check program

•    Visiting area marine dealers to pass out free safety information that can be given to their customers.

Our members come from all walks of life and all age groups. We have members as young as 17 and as old as 90. We are united by our desire to make a difference in boating safety and the proud traditions of the United States Coast Guard.
