8th Western Rivers District

Serving southern Arkansas and western Tennessee

How do I Join the Auxiliary?

Your first step in joining the Auxiliary will be to attend a meeting of the nearest Auxiliary unit (known as a flotilla).  You can find out when and where they meet by clicking on one of the flotilla links on the left side of this page.  Feel free to contact the Flotilla Commander prior to the meeting to ask about the Auxiliary.  When you get to the meeting, talk to as many folks as you can about what they do in the Auxiliary and what opportunities are available locally.  In particular, you should talk to the Flotilla Personnel Services staff officer who can walk you through the process of becoming a member.  If you like what you see and hear, come back to another meeting and ask the Personnel officer for a membership application.

Do you need to have a boat to join the Auxiliary?

No, there are a wide range of opportunities to serve in the Auxiliary whether you have a boat or not.

What benefits do Auxiliary members receive?

    •    Employees of city, county, and state government agencies in Arkansas are eligible for up to 15 days

of paid leave each year that may be utilized for Auxiliary duty in emergency situations.
